Atlas Vertebrae Necklace
This delicate and intriguing necklace is made from a weasel "atlas" vertebrae bone suspended between beautiful antique-brass chains.
At 16.5” -17" in length, it sits right at the collarbone. Can be made longer by request.
Often mistaken for a pelvic bone because of its shape, the atlas vertebrae is actually the vertebrae that supports the skull. It is named for the Greek mythological character of Atlas, who upheld the sky on his shoulders.
Due to the natural materials used, bones may vary slightly in size and shape from the images here. Rest assured that each one is hand-picked by the designer, and jewelry can be easily exchanged if unsatisfactory.
