Each ornament is hand-painted on natural pine wood rounds, approximately 3.5" round by .5" thick with a natural bark edge, and then covered with multiple layers of encaustic A natural.

WHAT IS ENCAUSTIC?

It's a two-thousand-year-old art form involving the use of heated beeswax and damar resin (a tree sap) to which colored pigments are added. The damar resin helps the beeswax harden.
